I attended the final concert March 5, 63 at Memorial Hall in KC,KS with my mom and dad. I was 11 years old. Sadly, I don't remember that much about the concert its self. I do, however, have these recollections of what happened right after the show that night. After much insistence from my mom and dad, I stood in line alone, with dozens of adult fans, to get an autograph from Dotty West and Patsy Cline. There was a split door (the top and bottom opened independently) at one end of the stage, below the stage, on the same level as the front row seats.The top of the door was open with both ladies standing behind the bottom half of the door. I was toward the end of the line and when I got close we had to step back because one lady came out to meet us up close. I do remember both ladies being very kind to all us fans, asking my name, shaking my hand and thanking me for attending the show. I was really bashful and remembered being embarrassed standing before these beautiful women. It was not like a lot of concerts today with wild screaming fans; it was more like after church with people standing around, milling about visiting, shaking hands. I don't remember any of the men entertainers. They may have been on the other end of the stage. I still have Patsy’s and Dottie’s autographs on the concert program from that night.
