No one’s saying a Director of Football would be perfect, of course they’d get some decisions wrong.

But after nearly two years of recruitment failures, poor managerial calls and repeated strategic mistakes, the standard isn’t perfection, it’s clear improvement.

A proper structure brings expertise and accountability and if it doesn’t work, you replace the person responsible. What we have now feels like the same people making the same errors again and again without meaningful change or accountability.
