Noticed in the article that Top-40's problem began in 2016. He's right.

In 2015, more and more junk music kept getting played on CHR. It was pretty good in the years leading up to it.

Fall 2015 Apple Music launched. After that nothing was the same. I remember listening to new music on it. So much of it was junk.

As 2016 went on, there was so many terrible songs. Rarely hear any of them even as golds anymore.

By 2017 people took notice of it. The few songs that were good memorable radio hits are probably still getting some airplay today.

Format flips started happening in 2018. Usually a second CHR in a market like WRNW. The music was unlistenable at that point.

I scoped the last few hours of WRNW before it went Sports and put it online. How many of these songs do you remember? Handful of them still get played. The last song they played is one of them.
