My apologies for taking so long to reply.
No I haven't been instructed to "zip it" by anyone. Honestly, I'm on here of my own free will and speaking only for me.
In terms of CrackerJack's last response, I research and ask questions about everything that I vote on sometimes to a fault. I never make decisions without questioning them nor do I take other people's word on it if it doesn't sit well with me. That isn't how I operate.
The issue at hand is the "tax increase" right? Okay, the "increase" was to allow the District to capture any additional increases in EAV, which was predicted at 10%. But the District doesn't set EAV, and the State always manages to influence it, so our Finance Director (as with all school districts in the state) does his best to forecast it based upon years of data trends, known development, etc.
I went ahead and got the financial update presentation from our Finance Director, but this site won't allow me to upload it for you. I would be more than happy to email it to you if you would like.
Finally, I would like to say that since you may or may not know me, maybe everyone on this Board should meet me before judging my level of knowledge/competence, my goals and ambitions, and me personally. It is one thing to come onto a site where you are only known for your username and make comments about issues and people with really no accountability for those words. It is an entirely different thing for an elected official like me to come on here and try and provide accurate information to people or at least where they can find the information with no real clear end point. I've learned in my relatively short time in politics that sometimes there is literally nothing I could say that would satisfy certain people. They are going to judge and make their own critique of what I say no matter what I say or how I say it.
