Matt, I'm sure as a member of the board, you have to have some basic understanding of this tax situation. You keep stating that this 10% tax hike is untrue, but you offer no explanation what so ever about what (is) true.
Instead, you take the easy way out and direct everyone who wants to know what we tax payers are facing, to call your Director of Finance, knowing full well, most if anyone at all will not place that call. Most people want to remain anonymous and would rather not give up their contact information and names in order to become informed.
I'm sure some where within your campaign platform, you included transparency. Why the diversion or redirection when faced with questions from your constituents? Surely you have the knowledge after attending this meeting to be able to explain this situation.
I hear you loud and clear when you say the board raising taxes by (10%) is not true. But, what worries me is what we are not hearing. Does this mean the board could be raising taxes by 9.9% instead?
As much as people will remember your fortitude in confronting this post concerning some school board members, they will also remember your attempts at passing the buck to your Director of Finance, and unwillingness to stick around for the more direct and tougher questions.
