    Matt Jones,

No where in my post will you find that I ever once doubted the good intentions, or the characters of any board members. You accuse me of "attacking", I see if differently. Perhaps I should have mentioned the dedication and good work the board members have done, and my lack of doing so brought you to their defense.

I also find it odd, that you accuse me of insulting your colleagues because of their ages, when their ages were your biggest focal point during your campaign. Let's take a look back, shall we?

You say that you want to be a....
"positive difference in GC and bring some youth to the Board in the hopes that it will improve the way we think about education."

"I’ve been to school in the last 5 years and have graduated from GCHS (and soon college) quite successfully. I know what it takes to be a student in the current day-and-age, not 30 years ago."

"I know modern technology and how it’s being used in school and the workplace."

"This district's current or prospective financial state didn't occur overnight; we're borrowing some 10 million dollars this coming year because we didn't think about the future (and obviously we haven't been for the past 2, 3, maybe even 5 or more years. "

"I'm excited to be on the Board even in these rough times because this district needs someone young and innovative with an eye to the short and long term future."

"I have creative ideas for getting money and funding without raising taxes and a new perspective on education unlike other candidates and current members."

"I am also saying that there are people in this district (which I'm sure is true in every district) who are put in positions (whether teaching or administrative ones) based on their last names as opposed to their qualifications (or lack thereof). As I’ve stated before, in a town of 30,000 people, nepotism is something that cannot be avoided."

So, you came onto the discussion board to set me straight about insulting your colleagues, and now friends by pointing out their ages, and daring to suggest our school board may be better served by younger people with fresh ideas. Alrighty then.

Since you mentioned that only one of the three board members have filed their petition for re-election, does that mean the other two are stepping aside?

It's completely understood you are only speaking for yourself, but trust me when I say, in fact, you can rest assured they ALL will know you are commenting, with approval or not, because it's common knowledge and well known they all read this board religiously.

Cracker Jack (Opinionated discussion board member)
