Actually they can be blamed somewhat. Turnovers, stupid penalties and some lack of effort last night. However, we went last night with some relatives in town for homecoming. We sat in the home stands and I was listening to parents of player say that kids simply don't want to play for this coach.
I was also surprised at some of the play calls. If you don't have a strong throwing QB, don't throw a lateral pass. We did it a couple of times and are lucky we didn't lose the ball. We also kept trying to run up the gut which was silly as we were outmanned on the line. I give props to the young running back (name escapes but I think it's Jerry). He seemed to be the only kid trying during much of the game.
Let's hope a new conference gets things rolling. Next week is O'Fallon and they are terrible this year as well. Let's at least compete team.
