I'm not as curmudgeonly about it as I appear... There's a fine line between dedication (that is admirable) and the insanity that rules many families and some communities. To those dedicated, I salute them....dedicated to anything that makes them a better person and makes their community a better community. There are many great well-rounded student athletes out there. I have seen it in other places where, because of athletics....kids rule the roost. You wouldn't believe the insane stories I had heard. Growing up "You can be anything you want to be, as long as you can do it living under this roof and in Granite City." Now it's like "Oh, should we move in the district with the best cheerleeding program for our Sasha...or to the one that has the best golf for little Sebastian....? I know, let's get a divorce and that way they can be in their favorite school... Oh wait..now you're pregnant with a third...I thought...oh well, these kids will be graduated by then and he can tell us where we're living when he gets older."
