Let's flip this just for fun.
The officer has put his fate in the hands of a judge as opposed to a jury. If that's an elected judge, big mistake, HUGE mistake.
Let's say that judge finds the cop guilty (or at least pronounces him guilty). How about if all people who feel the cops have been given a raw deal assemble and start burning down neighborhoods or blocking traffic or disrupting travel. I wonder how long we would get away with it. Not long.
