I like a good steak, too. I understand the feeling guilty. I was actually raised on a small farm and would always end up eating a pet. We raised about 30 chickens, and ducks,geese, turkeys, pigs, goats and rabbits. I never had to deal with the killing part, but when we got ready to move back to civilization, we cleaned 25 chickens in a weekend and canned them. Chicken pluckin' ain't no fun, for sure. And yes, farm raised tastes much different.. I have started buying eggs from Horseygirl at Gateway Stables. I feel better when I go to pick them up and the chickens are running around free, pecking at the ground.
