Has the teacher said something? They can get the ball rolling to have your child tested. If not, then hit the Doctor. There are some long question forms to fill out. They will ask things like:
Does your child sit still: Never, sometimes, almost always, all the time.
They have to have a certain number of answers from different sources to diagnose ADD or ADHD.
The medicine can really make a difference, but there is a lot of trial and error involved with finding the right thing that will work for your child. Sometimes you can just use some behavior modification techniques and skip the meds. Depends on how severe it happens to be. Good luck.
