I have never been tested for it.
It is my belief that ADD is the most over diagnosed disorder on the planet. Most of the symptoms of ADD can be attributed to a bad diet, board child (aka, ineffective teacher), or any other of list things.
I would be very careful allowing someone to "medicate" you kid, or family member. It is my personal belief that the treatment is worse than the illness.
I do not intend to say that if someone is legitimately suffering a [extreme] case of ADD that medication should not be tried, Rather, I would like to state that most of the "symptoms" are the same as those of "childhood"
For example;
"Children with ADD/ADHD are often able to concentrate on activities they enjoy. But no matter how hard they try, they have trouble maintaining focus when the task at hand is boring or repetitive."
WHAT KID FINDS IT EASY TO CONCENTRATE ON THINGS THEY FIND BORING?
