Why? Why shouldn't non-profits get to represent the views and interests if their members? Why shouldn't religious organizations have the same right to campaign as say, the Humane Society, the NRA, unions, etc? one simple phrase: seperation of church and state. when a religious entity campaigns they in turn seek to push their religious agenda in a political way. if you want to be religious - more power to ya - but keep your faith out of my government. i feel we need to protect everyone's ability to exercise whatever faith they want - but at the same time we must protect ourselves from those faiths seeking political power.
