When Justice will be just that, justice, and justice, will not be a word mistaken for revenge. Revenge is not justice....and a system built upon revenge cannot be a system that is just.
What is "just" about me paying the living expenses of a person, who is not worth the air they breath.
I don't even know anybody that has been murdered. How am I seeking revenge for their death, by wanting a $#it-bag dead. By that logic, your seeking "revenge" if you want them in prison for the rest there natural life.
