What's the difference what your background is as long as you know what you're doing when you start your first anesthesia job. The point of anesthesia school and the 2 years in the OR is to learn the skills to be able to take care of the patient. Does it really matter that you may know a little more beforehand? It's up to the individual student to work on the areas that need improvement. If they don't, they should be allowed to graduate.
