Didn't mean to offend. If you would have thought about it you would realize that it was simply that we are ALL mid-levels. That is our "place" in the health care arena. Having a Doctorate or not is not anything special for us in terms of seniority in the hospital. It is however an accomplishment that deserves respect. It most likely wont affect billing at all. We will not be "Doctors" we will be mid-levels. The post was asking about CRNA's going to Doctorate. If it had been PA's, NPs, AAs, CRNAs, RAs really would NOT matter. I didn't realize anyone would be so sensitive to the matter. I'm not going to come onto a site and belittle others, I have respect for all. Don't particularly care for the attitudes of some but can work with them anyhow. I'm not at all threatened by another mid-level of any kind with a higher degree than mine or with another certification. If I was I would come onto various sites and belittle. If I work side by side with someone my biggest concern is that they know their role, their limits and are professional enough to acknowledge when a situation is out of their hands (preferably before it hits the fan). I think I had posted several months ago that if all mid-levels would drop the petty things and work together a little better we would be more respected and as a result be more valuable. I'm a PA-C and hoping to start Anesthesia (AA) school soon. Thats why I check out this site. I'm working on getting the few pre-reqs finished within a timeframe that would place my completion of the AA program and certification at a different year than the re-certification as a PA-C. I have no desire to recert as a PA-C and AA-C in the same year. I also have a background in Nursing which I left to pursue other interests (PA) before graduating. Again Stanley, it was not meant as a disrespectful remark and if you took it that way I apologize.
