And you overestimate your ability and training because, unlike AA's that come from a pre-medicine background, you think your nursing background confers some inherent ability to perform anesthesia.
Your ability to function independently (if you even do in reality) is more a function of legislation and judicial decisions, not efficacy.
Another group in health care with a similar ability to practice autonomously for similar reasons are chiropractors. They is very little evidence to show that chiropractors do anything other than helping in certain cases of self-resolving back pain, yet they are able to practice independently and bill medicare because of a legal decision.
Efficacy has nothing to do with it. CRNA's have very little evidence to support their ability to function safely independently yet they continue to do so for the same reason you tout the resurgence of AA's - MONEY.
