Bill, Ohio passed legislation last year that AA could not do regional anesthesia, an AA took it to court. The resistance was lead by....the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologist (look up the matter) I am a CRNA and had extensive trainng in regional anesth per US Navy, but if an AA is trained in the anatomy, pharm, complications, and LA, I am sorry for these limitation (perhaps you see the problem) CRNAs are not mini-MDs but we are trained. I had a BS in Bio and Chem then ran a CCU and then MS in Anesthesia . Maybe some of the MDA would take the 50%-100% call and work in the rural hospitals at 200K .I don't want to and I doubt they do either. Relax, most CRNAs don't hate you, and actually don't even talk about AA and their practice. Trying to bring CRNAs down is not the answer, and will not work, getting along at peace will.
