If you take the screw in front of the trigger guard out it will release the pressure of the top lever spring allowing the top lever to go out of alignment with the lower screw hole. I know from first hand experience just how difficult this it to realign so the screw can be put back in so I'd advise not removing it unless it's absolutely necessary.
