I may not agree with everything you have to say, but I will admit, I agree with a lot of it. I will be the first to raise a hand about having an ax to grind with the Mayor. I think any of us from Granite City unless you happen to be a friend of his, would have to agree on this topic. He is and has been a piss poor representation of our city. It is painfully obvious that his public speaking skills are, let me just say, lacking. His duck and weave and playing dodge ball in just about any situation that one would expect him to make an appearance is now so common, that it is not only expected, it is accepted. In the beginning of his term, it appeared he had a genuine concern for the people of the city and goals and hopes for growth. It didn't take long for all that to fade and he became content to sit back and stick out his chest in attempts to take credit for the projects and accomplishments of others. One of his biggest failures is his E.D. that he refuses to recognize was a big mistake in hiring. I don't fault him for giving this young man a chance, but to continue to sit by year after year and expect all of us to be content with his lack of performance is not only an insult to our intelligence, but an irresponsible waste of the tax payers money. It is about time, his firehouse friends take a stand. I would hope they all would eventually see this performance for what it is and make a far better choice when casting their votes in the next election.
