Very true Hard Core and well said. Most of the fireman do want him out but some of the older ones who are his good ole boys are just as blind or want to be handed the chiefs job like the rest. Qualified does not get you these positions, a,. kissing and not fighting against him does. Opie and others are friends or part of his hoosier family to defend him the way they do. Anyone with intelligence can see the difference in development a good mayor and E.D. make! Look at Edwardsville, Ofallon and Glen Carbon growing like crazy and adding quality to give you everything you need in one town. Here will just fill spots with crap or anything that comes in and leave areas sitting empty unless it suits the good ole boys!
