I have stated much in other post, but as mayor cut city hall drastically! Each office could lose a person, cut inspection department and go to fire and police, term limits for mayor and alderman, reduce department heads salaries. How to keep dead city residents from migrating - eliminate section 8! Bring up standards and class of businesses in town! Shut down all payday loans with ordinance against that kind of business! Tear down old ymca and relax inn and build new businesses within them to fit plan of bringing up the class! Prspessure slum lords with heavy fines if properties not brought up to code! Increase cost of license to own rental property! Create a utility tax like all communities around GC! Put a end to hood ole boy politics! It's like high school at city hall! The mayor is the dumb popular guy and the smarts kids who are not popular but have the best ideas are cast aside! This is not just a rant, I have seen it more then once! The fire chiefs are all buddies of Eds and not qualified for the position. This is the same with other departments! Go to city hall, old fire and police guys, sanitation, street and you will find all the same family names as part of the good ole boys who bring nothing new to the party and sit in there comfy corner! Stop letting the mill off the hook on EPA violations. U.S. steel and Sun coke were hit by eba bug instead of city fining them and pursuing change they excepted the mill buying done electric cars and charging stations and hybrids! Who are driving these? Well Ed and his buds! This kind of nonsense has to stop! I ask you this? Granite city is a 24 million dollar company. If Ed. We're ceo of said company would you invest all your stock! I would not and neither would you!
