I use the same tool for both engines because the timing marks mean nothing as long as it goes back in the same place as before you started (assuming it was running ok )"I stand to be corrected,but both crankshaft setting tools are marked on different sides of the locating pin that lines up with the hole on front housing and also as Liam said will not work.As regards setting up timing I agree it can be set up with 1 and 4 pistons on TDC with valves rocking on cyl.4.which is not going to be always 100%.The same as using tippex to mark the position of gears for refitting new belt,it will work but your timing may not be accurate.Christy.
