Even if you are in the throws of psychosis and are responding to internal stimuli if you kill someone without justification you are guilty of murder. I reject whoever decided that if you aren't of sound mind you cannot still be held accountable for your actions.

Having said that, it is very troubling there is literally no reliable evidence of psychosis. There has to be a reason why you are compelled to kill someone AND do not understand why it is wrong. How would killing your kids save them? Barring a strong delusional belief that God commanded her to kill them ... what was the delusion that justified her killing them?

I will say I'm troubled she sought medical help and was left with 3 small children but depression is not legal insanity. Psychosis is literally a fixed set of beliefs that does not change. Depression is not psychosis.

I really don't have the energy to deal with digging into this so perhaps more will come out but it's insane 11 people felt she reasonably was legally insane. Maybe it's time to abandon the whole charade. That being said, there are people with legitimate psychosis who can be treated with medication to be safe but if you kill someone you should never get released from some kind of mental institution. You are not like everyone else
