I’m fascinated to see what it means for Fondop. Only chance he’s ever had to play alongside a big target man, while with us (possibly in his whole career) was with Nuttall. Never picked to pair up with Stones. I’d like to see Fondop now tried on the right wing in a 4-2-3-1. Early evidence suggests he won’t be able to physically bully centre backs in L2, as he was sometimes able to do in NL. But put him up against a full back and he might have a field day. If MK Dons can play Mendez-Laing on the right wing, don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to do same with Mikey.
I really liked the look of Hannant at #10 when he first came on as sub, against MK, before moving to left back. More creativity in that 15 minutes than we have shown in the whole of the rest of 2 full matches, otherwise. Think we should persist with him in that role at least until Pett or Payne fit to return. And landing Robson should allow us to do that.
