I think we've reached the point that will categorically prove what many of us have been saying all along. It doesn't actually matter what he does, people will support him.

No matter how much he proves his utter dishonesty and contempt for the truth, no matter how corrupt he proves himself, no matter how ridiculous the claims he makes are, there are a large set of people who will vote for him regardless.

It's one of the things that will be studied for decades to come. What on Earth causes people to put on such effective blinkers? No matter how obvious he makes it that he's going to shaft them all, as long as he tells them it's good for them, they will just "baa" happily and support him.
