I'm not even sure he was found wanting tactically. I think the mistake was not having a complete clear out (like this season) after relegation. Sheff Utd and Burnley did and they did well, again. It's a nice idea, keep the players and give them a chance to go up and the idea they must be better than than before due to the PL experience. I think that has never been done and it's for a reason. We had a losing mentality and we carried that over into the Champ. If you think you're going to get beaten then you drop your effort. The last ditch tackles , the playing full on until the whistle goes, never say die etc. All the qualities we had as a winning team the season before. I'm probably wrong but that is how it has felt.
