Jason: The hammers on an LC Smith are rebounding, so if the tips of the firing pins are flush or just below the face of the breech when the hammers are cocked, they should be OK. The safety slide is actuated by a flat thin bar that fits partly in a groove in the top tang and partly in a groove in the stock. The end that bears against the safety slide has a hump on one side at the end. The other end is bent slightly to bear against a notch in the spindle of the opening lever.
