Some years ago I provided an ad for the L.C. Smith "Pigeon" Gun to Tom Archer, and he used it in one of his DGJ articles. It was from the August 1894 Chas. J. Godfrey catalogue. The picture shows the left side of the straight gripped gun with the flying Pigeon. The ad mentions the Crown Steel barrels made to order and expressly for use in this gun. The ad also says "The Only American Pigeon Gun made." When did the Brothers P introduce their AA/AAH Whitworth barrel Pigeon Gun? The Parker Story says the first four 79972 to 79975 were put into production in April 1894.
