This engraving question is driving me nuts! So I'm asking everyone the following question. "Has anyone ever actually seen an LC Smith Pigeon Grade gun with a "Blue Rock" engraved on either lock plate? I talked to two pretty good authorities, Buck Hamlin and Skip Dunlap and neither of them has ever seen one. For the past two years I've been looking everywhere for another Pigeon Grade that suits me and I've never seen one. Brophy describes this engraving on page 72 of his fine book along with a left plate illustration of the standing or some say walking pigeon, but on page 73 the right plate picture seems to have nothing but the typical LC Smith scroll work. Houchin's wonderful work replicates a Pigeon Grade advertisement on page 167 which has virtually the same discription as Brophy, but none of the illustrations show a "Blue Rock". The only place I can find a one Blue Rock and it's surrounded by scroll is on page 294 of Houchin's book and it's on a Skeet Special. Someone please enlighten me!
