Pat, As I said before, the more I do this the more I learn. I certainly was not challenging your date of manufacture and if Jim researched it for you I'm sure the information you have is correct. I do not consider myself any sort of expert. I'm a 67 year old student trying to matriculate through the maze of information and misinformation that's out there regarding these wonderful old guns. Isn't this fun! While we're on the subject of Pigeon guns, have you ever seen one with a "Blue Rock" on either of the lock-plates? According to Brophy, Houchins and the 1909 L.C. Smith catalog, which all describe the plate engraving as follows: "The engraving is handsome and very appropriate for a gun of this character. On one lock-plate is engraved a pigeon in full flight, on the other a blue rock"... Yet I have never seen this configuration and the picture on the same page in the catalog shows the what many refer to as the "walking pigeon" (head down vs head up as on the "standing" pigeon) on the left lock-plate. As the kids say today, Go figure!
