Destry: Not entirely surprised to hear that. I think Drew's point takes into account a preservation mind-set, as much for the gun as for the shooter. I had the chokes opened up from full and full to 1/2 and 1/4 by a very competent fellow who blessed my use of steel in this particular firearm. Admittedly, he's more of a rife and 870 guy, but he's no fool either. I tend to shoot about 2 boxes through it per season, and it's on roughly it's 4th with no obvious problems. I've been more concerned about detached retinas than barrel bursts, but I will look it over very closely before using it again next year. LM
