Well, since these Constellation-class frigates were basically costing about the same as the much harder-hitting Burke-class destroyers, we should continue building Burkes until a feasible alternative is found. This way, the Navy can maintain the required hull numbers needed. Just my two-cents worth.

After a miserable start, the Constellation Frigates have been cancelled. Only 2 will be built: Constellation FFG 62 and Congress FFG 63.
The Navy states that are turning attention to smaller, easier and quicker to produce ships.
Well, let's see how much the design team and screw up again.
