I never formally proposed it, but I told Dunstan that we should add a requirement to put lead levels on the ballot. I reasoned that if voters had the candidates blood lead levels in deciliter on the ballot, it could change the face of politics in America. No longer would a voter have to choose R or D, the could simply pick the least impaired candidate ranked by blood lead levels, rather than the best worst option, which is how they do it now. In communities with historically high background lead levels, it could revolutionize public service. Never could gain traction with it. I dunno.
