most know what i do for a living, im in thousands of homes, gone are the days of children doing homework in a controlled enviornment. just yesterday i saw a young man doing homework while he was playing a computer game and jacking with his iphone. terrible, my dad only went to the fourth grade, but he made sure i got my work done, and helped with my school work on most days. And this was after putting in about 12 hours a day at the local diary. one of my renters as we speak has 2 school age children, one is in high school. Last year she missed 3 months of school, but still went on to the next grade level, yes you heard that right. The dad went to the school and even to the police to get them to try to make her go to school, to no avail. That wouldnt have happened in my home, my dad would have tore my behind up the first day. What happened to truant officers? dont we have them anymore. Im very concerned about our low scores, im told we are second from the bottom, East St. Louis being dead last. These kids are our future....
