The police got in the middle when she called them. Then the police illegally reached into my pocket to sieze my wallet as he demanded my id, detained, cuffed, stuck me in the back of a police car. That is not something they have the authority to do. Under Terry V Ohio. They may only pat you down if they are lawfully detaining you and only if they have a reasonable belief that you are carrying a weapon. But they may not go into your pockets especially from the get go or reach into your clothing. It really helps for people to know their rights to realize just because the police do something doesn't mean they have the authority to do it.
