Everyone should have a tour. Call the office and schedule one. You would be amazed, I was. Amazed and challenged at the same time.

Amazed at quality of the people there, some of whom we've lost. Rosemarie Heath and John Maeras were exceptionally talented when they retired, and I miss both of them every day, but the young uns' have some spunk too. I remind these young people, politics changes...I won't be here forever, but someone, maybe you, could be doing my job someday. Both parties need talented people across all disciplines to responsibly run all these agencies.

Challenged by the level of engineering required, the labor relations skills necessary, and the fact that MESD has been absolutely broken by St Clair County's real estate crash over the last 40 years.
Madison County taxpayers pay 78 cents of every dollar spent at MESD. That's a tragedy, and it has to change. Fortunately, I have a great board to work with, whom are supportive, and want the district to thrive in spite of these challenges. They understand they run one of the largest municipalities in Illinois, right in our back yard.

Call the district and ask for Kim, we'll schedule a 2 hour tour for anyone who wants to show up.
Happy Easter to all the GCG community.
