I acknowledge your respect is for Chris and not knowing him - I find him quite respectable. I am not 100% sure he is a liberal, he just has the viewpoint he has on this issue.
No doubt about it, Obama's record on immigration was abysmal. If anything, I almost give GW Bush more credit for a compassionate response on immigration. I almost felt that he threw them under the bus in order to appease the party that countered him at every move.

This is a different situation - where people never knew another homeland and were either born here or came here as young children.
Yes...to just take them and plop them back in another country would be draconian.
That is different than someone who hopped a fence, or overstayed a visa....etc, etc.
