Never once did I assert they were not qualified. They MAY be, I am asserting that there may be rampant (all my life that I've been cognizant that these things exist, really) Nepotism in our town.
And strip away your ego, pride, team affiliation, the fact that you may know and are friends/family with those who might be named...and ask yourself, "Is this right good action?"
I asked myself that, and the answer was a resounding NO.
And I am not questioning anyone's desires or political strategies or work ethic... that's not in my radar..
But you can work hard and break the rules. You can care about a city, but you can also be acting unethically (and NOT in the best interest of your municipality, again this is not a family business).
In my view, if we can't do it ethically within the government, we shouldn't do it.
