    Good questions, let me answer.

In my view, this is a problem that even if I never would win elected office, that should be exposed.

To be honest, I don't expect to win anything IF I run, but that wont stop me from trying (ground work, meetings with potential constituents, etc).

Further, nepotism damages an operation..because generally you don't get the most qualified person, you get your friend/family member...and when public policy is dictated that way, it doesn't work for all as it (allegedly) should.

    Do my research myself?

Good point, fair point. My answer is this, "I am one person who doesn't have the access that some folks have or have had. I am not an island, and it is not about me."

Take that one to the bank.

The bottom line is...in my view, I see a disparity (multiple including this one)and its time for folks like me (not "picture perfect" BUT substance solid) to run, despite the overwhelming sentiment of "you wont make it".

Do you ever back down from a fight because you think you are going to get beat up?

    I don't.

Also, I think you are thinking of a "hit list" of names. That would not be my intention. I have ZERO personal vendettas to address.

WHAT I DO HAVE is 3 kids who are growing up in this town and I see a paradigm shift happening AND on the horizon.

One where our town is more caramelized, one where we HAVE to find a way to un-moor from the steel mill as best we can so our local economy DOESN'T wax or wane with that industry, one where all people should feel that they have an investment in our town (or have the opportunity to feel that way), one where the vote is cast for the BEST candidate, not the one with the best name, etc.

Further, In my view, more people like me should consider running because we are REGULAR people.

I'm just an ordinary schmuck like you and most other people that is seriously considering DOING, instead of COMPLAINING.

Its time we, despite our differences on the details, come together around common issues (tax system, income inequality, a future for our kids (which includes not crippling them with student debt, and offering all kids regardless of class, skin color, religion, etc get THE SAME chance if they are so willing).

    Good points, let's keep discussing.

Do you have anything to add? No disrespect taken, by the way, I think you made good points.

Take care. Its about our people, not our team.
