Good points and rebuttals. Yes, I would be MORE inclined to hire someone I know. I am a human. That is why process that are "sailor-proof" need to be in place.

I am not challenging someone as a "non-regular" person. Actually, my interest piqued (even after hearing about it, and saying "well, I'd do the same thing" in some capacity) when I was going to apply for a city position and noticed that that some of the same names were everywhere. And then I started listening to people.

    And I got mad.

Because again, in my view, this is NOT a family business, this is a municipality that should serve all citizenry.

"Dont have what it takes to run." You are correct.

But I do have what it takes to run , should I choose.

Even if I don't, another benefit of this is to put it to bed. If it exists as speculated by some, then we fix it. If it does not exist, we put this to rest and move forward.

But I surmise, based on the data I am getting and Opie's responses (subtle they may be) and others'...that I have struck a nerve, so naturally I must investigate.

If it is there or isn't there, would you not like to know?
