You are spot on Opi, with your entire post. I am guilty for not giving Leroy's my business for quite a while now, for the very reasons you just stated. I am a clean freak and well, you can figure the rest out I don't have to say it. That is such a shame.

The employees at Caseys are always cleaning up the parking lot and staying on top of their trash cans. You never see over flowing cans or trash on their property. They are often sweeping and mopping and wiping down the inside of the store. Those things are important and mean a lot to me as a customer.

The police are often there and I appreciate that also. The old Hucks, I wouldn't step foot in that place, even if it meant I had to drive miles to get to another gas station. That is one business I would love to see pack up and go.

"What was once a pretty decent group of apartments is now a slum full of druggies, thieves and thugs. Mr. Jim Green certainly put the screws to this community when he turned that place into a housing project."

Absolutely correct! He was the beginning of the end to that area. He was even allowed to ruin the looks of Long Lake when he dumped his trash onto the banks. I can not imagine the cost of the clean up, should they ever decide to tackle that blunder.

Almost 35 years ago I rented a townhouse on Kathy Dr. Back then it was a nice place to live, we paid premium rent WITHOUT assistance. This was well before those front Oakmont Apartments were built. We had a view of the lake and a nice size patio area. I can remember the landlords making their rounds after a few years gathering information on what tenants may be eligible for rental assistance and that was our cue to pack up and buy a home. We knew what was coming.
