I thought we were doing the Fair tax with no EIC...and I was very fluid saying that it would have to go down a few percentage points for those with less means.
You don't want me writing tax code. My abilities with numbers aren't that great. All the college algebra, trig and whatnot is long gone from my mind. It was a 'use it or lose it' proposition and was lost on me after the last test, in a college algebra class that I repeated in undergrad.
I am for the reform of the tax code. If we're going to pay a 14 Trillion dollar debt and takes care of essential tasks (and take care of our most vulnerable citizens - especially those who paid into the system and served their country) then this burden is not going to be light for anyone.
Obama -- Tax more -- spend more..
Paul -- Tax less -- spend less...
3 Dee- Tax more, tax fairly -- spend less -- pay off the debt.
Okay back to it..
I am horrible with numbers - but I can still weigh in that we cannot simultaneously cut taxes and pay down this debt or balance the budget.
Cutting spending is essential -- what would be cut in your mind would be different in mine. But yeah, spending has to be cut.
I still believe taxes cannot go down until our debts are paid and our infrastructure is once again in good working order and again the best in the industrialized world.
You say Corporations put taxes into the cost of doing business and just raise prices.
Well, I believe that this laissez-faire capitalism has to be reigned in.
Retaining these billions in profits while raising fees - and then moving the jobs out of this country...this is the heart of the matter.
Abuses by Wall Street and corporate America need to be addressed.
I believe that the trickle down method benefits no one but only the ones on top.
It doesn't work, hasn't worked, and will not work.
But ending the abuses of corporate America, and giving incentives to buy Made in the USA I think will create far more jobs than giving more breaks to those who simply don't need them, and won't use them to benefit anyone but themselves.
