So true, Doc. Some unions exploit their power, which gives the rest of us a bad name... and I don't care for that.
Like UAW, did you ever hear of some of the demands they got met in contracts with the auto makers before the bailouts?
In industrial fields, I think unions do more harm than good, when we are already at a competitive disadvantage in labor costs against other nations, the unions still want high pay and benefits, in my opinion, that just accelerates the exit of those kind of jobs from the country. Besides, at least in the experience of one my relatives as a retired mechanic, the unions never did much to help him, with his employer (and there's a lot they could have done to help).
