As much as I believe in private charities, it doesn't belong on Madison Avenue. I'd put it in the same boat as public housing: NOT IN MY BACKYARD. Why? Because it generates negative perceptions and attracts shady characters (even if their percentage is small, I'd rather not have them).
Now to clarify, if they want to continue in Granite, I have no problem with that. But a less-visible location would be better for everyone. Although I do agree with Dee on the notion that we can't have vacant decaying building either. Its a lose-lose situation on this one.
