Since 1962, Illinois has executed 12 individuals, as listed here: Click Here. Since 1977, 13 have been freed for various reasons, including, but not limited to, DNA, false testimony, etc. As listed here: Click Here So yes, in fact, more innocent people have been freed than the number of people actually executed here. Scary I must say.
