fireofgaia, If only shuffling kids around to different schools would do the things you say, it might be worth it, but imo it will not. Shuffling kids around wont provide a better education....are the kids in our district not getting a competent education now?? Kids from our district have the ability to compete with other students from other communities now and can attain higher education anywhere they desire. The problem is lack of parental direction, lack of drive and ambition in many children. Many simply have no desire to compete or succeed. You cant change that by shuffling kids to different schools imo. The district is trying to find a solution to low test scores but you cant change those scores by changing what schools you shuffle kids to. Goal oriented parents guiding their children is what is going to change test scores IMO.
