Would suck if one kid is at Prather, while another is at Mitchell, and you live nearer to Frohardt or something.
I think I did a long post about what I would do as an armchair quarterback for the school board.
But now I forgot.
I think I said divide the area in 3 regions, and give each region two grade schools, one for primary and another for 3,4,5.
So in one region is Mitchell and Maryville. It could cover Pontoon, Mitchell and anything North of Pontoon or so.
Second is Neidringhaus and Prather. That region takes care of any numbered streets, including those with East or West orientation.
Third could be Worthen and Frohart. That region takes care of much of what is East of Nameoki. But not the far north portions belonging to the first region.
Wilson or any of the other schools can be a center for special needs.
The one grade per school is not a BAD idea as far as education...but logistically, a night mare.
That way if I live by SWIC, I'm dealing with Maryville and Mitchell, Grigsby, GCHS.
If I live in East Granite, I'm dealing with Niedringhaus and Prather, Coolidge, GCHS.
If I live around Wabash, well I'd deal with Worthen and Frohart, and both middle schools would serve portions of this region, and then go into GCHS.
That way, the kids are not too far from, but each school building still has its specialized focus.
