For the love of God -- I've never heard anyone so defensive and self-righteous. There is not ONE single law that states that an AA/CRNA is prohibited from doing non-clinical work with his degree. The fact is, an AA holds an advanced medical degree (as another posted pointed out) which is usually one of the principal qualifications necessary to get hired as a freelance medical writer by medical communications firms. If I become an AA, what's going to stop me from doing freelance medical writing for one of those companies? Because it's "not right" to use my degree to make money in a versatile fashion? So I guess an MD/DO who completes a residency in anesthesia, general surgery, pediatrics, or any other field should ONLY use his education and qualification to physically practice medicine? ... Or otherwise he's "betraying" his degree?
