Yeah, I know SRNAs learn pharm in anesthesia schools.
What I meant was do ICU nurses learn these in ICU units. I don't think ICU nurses spend considerable time thinking about pharmacology and pharmacodynamics, which is really the pillars of anesthesia. Like I mentioned, they may know the name of drugs and the purpose, but would they learn what drugs to prescribe in a given situation, and how much? It's the MDs who do this tasks. Same thing with mechanical respiration. Usually it is the RTs who determine the treatment. Sure, they get exposed to ventilators, invasive lines, ACLS drugs, etc. But they are not the ones who are in control of these treatments.
